PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE

How do you create spaces in which employees’ identities, ideas, values, history, and experiences are seen as strengths?

What does it look like to spend 40+ hours a week in an environment in which employees feel like they can bring their full, authentic selves? This seminar will provide participants an opportunity to reflect on their own experiences in the workplace, consider how to contribute to a psychologically safe workplace, and build a deeper understanding of fear-based or unsafe practices.

This workshop will examine both behaviors and systems that can enhance or diminish psychological safety. Participants will leave the workshop with tools and strategies on how to create a safer space for themselves as employees and for their teams as leaders.

By the end of this workshop, participants will:

Understand how to increase psychological safety within a team environment to boost productivity, performance, and collaboration

Determine 5-6 new strategies to create a safer space for others to engage in their workplace

Consider 1-2 protocols or processes that can be enhanced, updated, or removed to encourage workplace safety

Establish trusting interpersonal relationships and creative risk-taking without fear of reprimand

Be aware of ways to support managers in creating a culture of psychological safety

The seminar includes an opportunity for a Q&A session
