JUNETEENTH & ALLYSHIP

As of 2021, Juneteenth is celebrated annually as a federal holiday on June 19th and yet more than 50% of Americans do not know much about the holiday. Increase your awareness with a celebration of Juneteenth in the workplace, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. In this educational and inspiring seminar, attendees will learn the history of enslaved African Americans, including state and federal rights.

Through interactive exercises, participants will gain awareness of microaggressions and unconscious bias. By discussing the presence of personal privilege in everyday life, individuals are empowered to take steps towards allyship. Sum of Us will work with your organization to customize and ensure relevancy to your organization’s needs.
